Currently based in Frankfurt, Germany, Kent Eastwood's 3rd studio album, Travelin' Tales, had its origins during a tour of
Europe. Armed with his iPhone 3GS and a multitrack app, Kent wrote and recorded demos in churches in Dresden, stairwells in Berlin, a backpackers in Prague, and even stumbled across one of Jeff
Martins’ 12 string Danelectro guitars in a shack in Ireland.
His unconventional cello style originated when he first bought the instrument, "It was just natural for me to grab the cello, put it over my knee and play it like a guitar."
A Keen Springsteen fan, Eastwood last year performed solo at The Basement for over 2 1/2 hours to celebrate 30yrs since the release of Bruce's Nebraska Album.
A fan later emailed after the show:
"I had reservations in my expectations for the show, but from the first note in 'Growing Up', I knew it would be an amazing evening."
Since his return from Europe Eastwood has been the traveling homeless troubadour, roaming the country in constant search for new stages to play.
Eastwood is a multi-instrumentalist who has toured the country with many Australian artists playing anything from piano, guitar, accordian, mandolin, banjo, harmonica and recently the cello.
Some of the Artists he's performed with include: Mia Dyson, Brian Campeau, Claire Bowditch, Waikiki, Renny Field, Sarah Humphreys, Buffalo Tales, Brett Winterford..
