Courtney Yasmineh writes cool girl heartbreaking folk songs that feel powerful
like rock and edgy like punk, but spring from a life long pursuit of excellence with
Bob Dylan as her preternatural North Star. She has a first published novel out

In the past decade songwriter Courtney Yasmineh has built a small but
mighty empire of loyal supporters touring the US and Europe by honing a
style that started out folk, became rock, and turned a bit punk by its sheer
energy and attitude. A storyteller in a tutu and leather jacket, it’s her well
crafted lyrics and engaging personality that make you love her. She has six
albums and a new novel about a girl who’s a songwriter to her credit, with
the second book in the series and a new album in 2018.
Courtney Yasmineh performed her first original song on guitar when she was ten
years old during an acoustic service at a big church in Chicago in 1972. Since
then her journey as a songwriter has been long and storied. There have been
distractions and deterrents, all of which have been chronicled in her songs.
Honesty and authenticity illuminate Yasmineh’s expansive body of work as a
writer, vocalist, guitarist, and recording artist. Her seventh album will be released
in 2018, as well as a second novel in a series based on her own inspiring journey
as a songwriter. Yasmineh’s style is part Bob Dylan, part Lou Reed, part Joan
Baez. Her words are poetic and her vocal delivery has a soulful timbre and
profundity of spirit that make her performances moving and memorable. Through
touring extensively in recent years in the US and Europe, her acclaim is
spreading and her devoted fanbase is growing.
"Independent artist Courtney Yasmineh is touring this autumn on the
strength of a successful funding campaign which has fostered a new
seventh album. The first single has been on indie charts in Europe since
April when she did 35 shows as a duo with her longtime collaborator,
producer/drummer Rob Genadek.
The duo format is connecting with audiences for the stripped down
flexibility that brings Courtney's passionate vocals and poetic lyrics to light.
Courtney's own back story is uniquely inspiring, showcased now in her first
novel, out this summer from Gibson House Press.
Courtney will have books, vinyl, bootleg recordings and more for signing at
